Requirement themes
ISO/IEC 27001 requirements cover establishing an ISMS — context, leadership, planning (including information security risk assessment and treatment), support, operation, performance evaluation, and improvement — plus control selection documented in the Statement of Applicability referencing Annex A as applicable.
This page is thematic guidance, not normative text. Edition: ISO/IEC 27001:2022 per verified notes.
Risk, treatment, controls, SoA
Risk assessment identifies and evaluates information security risks against defined criteria. Treatment produces plans and residual risk decisions. Controls implement treatment. The SoA states which Annex A controls (and others) apply, why, and implementation status.
Internal audit and management review evaluate whether the ISMS works.
